Letter to Registered Campers/Parents from Chris Hamilton, Director

Summer 2012

Dear Daydreamer Day Campers and Parents/Guardians:

We are looking forward to another exciting summer with you at Daydreamer Day Camp!  We have a great group of campers and counselors again this season!

With this letter, I’d like to cover a few details so we’re all prepared and to ensure the camp runs smoothly.

Drop Off:

**Drop Off is at 9:00am.**  If you have signed up in advance for Early Drop Off, you may arrive at 8:15am.

Please drop your child off at the Dartmouth Rugby Fields on Reservoir Road.  After you turn onto Reservoir Road from Route 10, turn right into the first parking lot.  You’ll see the big white tent at the far end of the parking lot.  This is the Daydreamer Day Camp tent.  See map for location.  It is required that you sign your child in at the start of each day.

Pick Up:

**Pick Up is at 4:00pm.**  If you have signed up in advance for Late Pick Up, you may pick up by 5:00pm.

Please pick your child up at the end of camp each day at Storr’s Pond Recreation Area in the big parking lot to the right before you pass the first booth to enter into Storr’s Pond.  It is required that you sign your child out at the end of camp each day. If someone else is picking up your child, please make sure they have your password.  We will not send your child with anyone other than their own parent/guardian unless that person knows the family’s password.

What to bring:

Please apply sunscreen prior to arriving at camp.  We will have sunscreen and will apply it when necessary, but we will assume they’ve arrived at camp already covered.

They will also need the following:

bathing suit

towel

sneakers

dry change of clothes

water bottle

snack

lunch (or lunch money for Storr’s S’mores)

rain coat if rain is forecasted

If you have your own tennis racquet, you may bring it but it is not required-  Storr’s Pond has racquets the campers may borrow for their tennis lessons each day.    Camp will not be cancelled due to inclement weather.  We will have water for water bottle refills throughout the day and will strongly encourage campers to drink plenty of water.

Please send all of these items in a labeled backpack or large bag that your child is able to carry his or herself.

Tie-Dye Wednesdays:

On the Wednesday of your camp week(s), please bring along a white cotton item of your choice for tie-dying.  Anything white and cotton will work (i.e. t-shirt, shorts, socks, scarf, hair scrunchie, hat, etc.)  Please label this item with your child’s name.

I feel very confident we have the most qualified counselors, a perfect location, and an amazing mix of activities to provide the ultimate summer camp experience.  I’m looking forward to seeing you at camp and having lots of fun!
